We are pleased to announce that Hyperledger FireFly 1.0 is now generally available on Kaleido and can be used on all plans. FireFly is the first open source SuperNode: a complete stack for enterprises to build and scale secure web3 applications. Check out our FireFly 1.0 announcement to learn more.
Feature Overview
One of the core tenets of Kaleido has always been to make blockchain for enterprise businesses radically simple. Hyperledger FireFly improves that by simplifying the many layers of complexity between the low level blockchain protocols and high level business processes with exciting features like:
FireFly SuperNodes: Launch blockchain apps quicker on the complete stack for enterprise web3 development.
FireFly Explorer: Easily monitor blockchain networks and transactions.
FireFly Sandbox: Quickly test and iterate tokens, messages, and smart contracts.
Automatic integration with existing infrastructure: Organizations and nodes created within Kaleido automatically show up within the FireFly interface.
Multi-protocol support: Build on popular protocols including Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, and Corda.
Simple API programming model: Define data schemas, send messages, share data, process events, create tokens and more.
Pre-built enterprise-grade components: Build faster with pre-built services for messaging, events, document transfer, transactions, tokens, and more.
Data orchestration: Coordinate off-chain and on-chain data flows across network members.
Deployment automation: Deploy and manage many apps on the FireFly platform within a single console.
Enterprise-friendly open source: Apache 2.0 license governed by the Linux Foundation's Hyperledger community.
When you run Hyperledger FireFly on Kaleido you also get these additional enterprise-grade features.
Instant, secure, and dynamic cross-cloud networks spanning AWS and Azure.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery infrastructure.
On-demand snapshot backups of your data and configuration.
A simple API to automate the provisioning and management of your resources, including Terraform scripting.
Global deployment footprint.
24x7 support available, backed by the deep subject matter expertise.
ISO27k and SOC 2, Type 2 compliance.
Experience running the world’s major blockchain networks across financial services, supply chain, healthcare, insurance, agriculture, government, media & entertainment, retail, industrial, and more.
How to Try It Out
First, create a Kaleido account if you don't have one. Then create an environment and select "Standard Blockchain Service + FireFly SuperNode". This will automatically create a FireFly node, blockchain node, IPFS node, data exchange, and blockchain interface. Then navigate to the "Manage Resources" section to access the FireFly Explorer, FireFly Sandbox, and FireFly Swagger interface.
